This Cookie Policy explains how BOOKYOLO PTE. LTD. ("BookYolo," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, mobile applications, Property Verification portal, and online services (collectively, the "Services"). It also explains how you can control these technologies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device when you visit a website or use an application. They are commonly used to make services function, improve user experience, remember preferences, and provide reporting information.
We may also use related technologies such as pixels, software development kits, tags, local storage, and session storage. In this Policy, we refer to these technologies collectively as "Cookies" unless a distinction is necessary.
2. How We Use Cookies
BookYolo may use Cookies for the following purposes.
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These Cookies are required to operate and secure the Services. They may support authentication, account access, security, fraud prevention, load balancing, and requested functionality.
The Services may not work properly without them.
Performance and Analytics Cookies
These Cookies help us understand how people use the Services, including pages visited, interactions, performance problems, and errors.
We use this information to improve functionality, reliability, usability, and performance. Where applicable, these Cookies are used subject to consent requirements.
Functional Cookies
These Cookies remember choices and preferences, such as language, cookie selections, or interface settings. They may be used to provide more convenient or personalized features.
Advertising and Marketing Cookies
Where permitted and, when required, with your consent, these Cookies may be used to deliver relevant advertising, measure campaign performance, or understand interactions with marketing content.
They may track activity across websites or services to build a profile of interests.
3. Property Verification Cookies and Browser Storage
The Property Verification service at verify.bookyolo.com uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to authenticate users, secure the service, preserve unfinished work, and prevent duplicate operational actions.
The service currently uses or may use the technologies described below.
bookyolo_verification_session
Type: Strictly necessary HTTP cookie
Purpose: Keeps a user signed in to Property Verification and authorizes authenticated requests.
Typical duration: Up to seven days, unless the user signs out or the session expires earlier.
Verification draft and workflow storage
Type: Local storage
Purpose: Preserves an unfinished Property Verification form, the current step, OTA mappings, selected verification method, and related workflow state so the user can resume later.
Typical duration: Until the submission is completed, the draft is cleared, the user deletes browser storage, or BookYolo removes the data under its retention practices.
Property contact and offer storage
Type: Local storage
Purpose: Preserves property contact information, offer-form information, and recent edits made through the property dashboard.
Typical duration: Until the information is replaced or deleted, the associated property is removed, or the user clears browser storage.
Payment-reminder state
Type: Session storage
Purpose: Prevents the same incomplete-payment reminder from being requested repeatedly during a single browser session.
Typical duration: Until the relevant browser tab or session is closed.
These technologies are necessary for authentication, security, draft recovery, billing workflows, and other functionality requested by the user. Blocking or deleting them may prevent login, draft restoration, payment setup, or dashboard features from working correctly.
Property Verification does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural-advertising pixels.
If BookYolo later introduces non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar technologies on the Property Verification service, BookYolo will update this Policy and provide consent controls where required by applicable law.
3A. Creator Portal Cookies and Browser Storage
The Creator Program portal at creator.bookyolo.com uses the same BookYolo account credentials as the main Services and, once you sign in, sets strictly necessary cookies and/or browser storage to authenticate you and secure your session, consistent with Section 3 above. It may also use functional or local storage to preserve an in-progress application or preserve your referral-link/dashboard preferences between visits.
If BookYolo enables analytics or attribution technology on creator.bookyolo.com (for example, to measure how a referral link was shared or clicked before conversion), BookYolo will update this Policy and provide consent controls where required by applicable law. Creator Portal cookies do not currently include advertising or cross-site behavioural-advertising cookies.
3B. BookYolo Stays and BookYolo Watchlist Cookies
BookYolo Stays (stays.bookyolo.com) and the BookYolo Watchlist (watchlist.bookyolo.com) are public, browsable pages that do not require an account to view. They may use strictly necessary technology to support basic functionality such as search and filtering, and performance/analytics Cookies of the kind described in Section 2 to understand usage and improve the pages. They do not currently require sign-in and do not currently use advertising cookies.
4. Stripe-Hosted Billing Pages
Property Verification may redirect users to Stripe-hosted pages to save payment details, start or manage subscriptions, and access the billing portal.
Stripe may use cookies and similar technologies on its own domains to authenticate users, prevent fraud, process payments, remember billing sessions, and operate its services.
Stripe's use of these technologies is governed by Stripe's own policies. BookYolo does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some Cookies used through the Services may be placed or controlled by third parties, including analytics, infrastructure, payment, embedded-content, or advertising providers. This may include PayPal, used as our payment/payout processor for the Creator Program, which sets its own cookies on its own domain when a creator completes payout or tax setup, governed by that processor's policies.
These parties may collect information about interactions with the Services and, depending on the technology and your choices, activity across different websites or services.
BookYolo does not control how independent third parties use information collected through their own Cookies. You should review their privacy and cookie policies for additional information.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several options for controlling Cookies.
Cookie Banner or Preference Tool
Where required, BookYolo may display a cookie banner or preference manager that allows you to accept or reject non-essential Cookies.
Strictly necessary Cookies cannot ordinarily be disabled through a preference tool because they are required to provide requested functionality.
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to block, delete, or limit Cookies and browser storage. Instructions are usually available in the browser's settings or help menu.
Deleting local storage may remove unfinished Property Verification drafts or recently saved dashboard information.
Blocking authentication cookies may prevent you from signing in or using secured features.
Analytics Controls
Where analytics providers offer independent opt-out tools, you may use those tools in addition to BookYolo's available cookie controls.
For example, Google provides a browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics in supported environments.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal.
There is currently no universally accepted standard governing how websites must respond to these signals. BookYolo does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, but you can use the controls described in this Policy to manage Cookies.
8. Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes to the Services, technologies, providers, or legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date. Where required, we may also provide additional notice or request renewed consent.
